How to play
A simple guide to all four games.
Pusoy
Arrange your 13 cards into three poker hands: Back (5 cards), Middle (5 cards) and Front (3 cards).
How it works
- Your Back must be the strongest, then the Middle, then the Front. A wrong order is a foul and loses every hand.
- Drag cards to swap them and build your hands before the timer ends.
- Each of your three hands is compared to the same hand of every opponent. Win a hand, win a point.
- LUCK hands win automatically: no people (no J/Q/K), six pairs, three straights, three flushes, four of a kind, straight flush. The host picks which LUCK hands count.
- Banker mode: everyone plays only against the banker. Ties go to the banker.
Payouts
- Each point pays the stake.
- Winning all three hands against someone (Pusoy) pays 2× the stake.
- A LUCK hand collects 2× the stake from every opponent. LUCK against LUCK is a tie.
Tong-its
Three players. Get rid of your cards by forming melds (bahay), or have the lowest points when the game ends.
How it works
- A meld is three or four of a kind, or three or more cards in a row of the same suit.
- On your turn: draw from the deck, or pick up the discard if it completes a meld with your cards.
- Lay down melds, sapaw (add a card to any meld on the table), then discard one card.
- A card that can be sapaw'd cannot be discarded.
- Players with no meld on the table are burned (sunog) and cannot win by count or draw.
- With a meld on the table you may call DRAW. Others with a meld choose Laban (fight) or No laban. Lowest points wins; a tie goes to the caller.
- You cannot call DRAW on the turn right after someone sapaw'd your meld.
Payouts
- Count win when the deck runs out: 1× stake from each loser.
- Tong-its (empty your hand): 2× stake.
- Won draw: 3× stake.
- Pot: starts at 2× stake and grows by 1× stake every round. Win two rounds in a row to take the pot.
Pusoy Dos
Be the first to play all of your cards.
How it works
- Suits rank ♣ < ♠ < ♥ < ♦ and 2 is the highest card.
- The player with 3♦ starts, and the first play must include it.
- Play a single, pair, triple or 5-card poker hand that beats the last play, or pass.
- When everyone passes, the last player to play leads anything.
Payouts
- Every other player pays the stake for each card left in their hand.
Lucky 9
Banker against up to five players. Get a hand total closest to 9. The deck has no J, Q or K.
How it works
- Ace = 1, other cards = their number, 10 = 0. Only the last digit of the total counts (7 + 5 = 2).
- Everyone gets two cards. Tap Draw (Hirit) for one more card, or Stand (Tayo).
- 8 or 9 with two cards is a natural and stands automatically.
- After the players, the banker plays. Each player is compared only with the banker. Ties go to the banker.
Payouts
- Beat the banker: win the stake. Lose: pay the stake to the banker.
